Mercedes Benz E-class and SL models are currently using early versions of brake by wire technology, as is the Toyota Estima. Nissan and BMW have both announced plans to include it in models of their automotive line in the near future, but the first fully electronic brake by wire systems are not expected in the European market until 2005.
